A couple of the trustees requested doves for the commissioned piece as a symbol of peace and hope. Here are some of the examples I showed them and they chose this one. They preferred the way this one was positioned rather than the open winged ones below where the dove could be seen to be more aggressive as if to attack.

I also tried a paper cut dove which has made me think about experimenting with lino cut printing as an alternative or addition. It was agreed that the symbolic images should be more distinguishable than the example below right.
